I'd say there about 60 in total. I was in a party of 30 people to a dinner there and they fit us all on one side of the restaurant
No, they dont accept cards over the phone. You have to bring the card in person when you pick it up.
The sushi is very good, not as great as Asian bistro it the east Brook Mall. The Chinese food is ok. If you are in the mood for that I would opt for Chang's garden.
Friendly staff and good food! Excellent lunch specials.
Yum. Nice place to eat while visiting my UConn student. Quiet, cozy.
The foods are ok and not bad but the service was bad and horrible. We went in with party of 2 and our check came out to be around ~ $40 dollars. My friend and I decided to split the check, so I paid for my part with 10% tips and the rest is on my friend with her 10% tips. Seem fair right ? No !! The waiter came back with the check and ask for 15% tips. It was the first time in my life that some waiters came back and ask for more tips !! UNACCEPTABLE!! If you were giving a friendly customer service we would give you 20% tips each but no you didn’t, so 10% is generous enough. This place just want your moneys, so don’t here.
The staff was really friendly, the restaurant was really empty. The sushi was decent for the money
Always great sashimi @ the bar!
Decent price for the kind of food the serve. I've never ordered anything bad from here. I've been here two or three times, and every time the staff have been polite.
I love this place.
Too simple but it was nice.
This was a family favorite restaurant for over ten years. Over the past few years the prices have gone up and the quality of food has gone way down. So disappointing. We’ve gone 2x in the past year and will no longer return.
Everything is great there, except their hot tea. Someone is confused there, hot tea supposed to contain actual tea leaves, not just water
This place has good sushi and Asian entrees. I had something called "the wet kiss" which was a sushi roll with soft shelled crab. It was wonderful. As was the miso soup and seaweed salad. The service was good. The waiter was attentive, spoke English well and wasn't overbearing. The cost is very reasonable and the food delicious. What more could you ask for?
Arguably the best sit down Chinese restaurant on campus. The food is presented nicely and the astmosphere is warm and cozy. Good for a first date, or a dinner with a party of 5 or less.
I would eat sushi for the rest of my life if I could
The food quality was really bad, waste of money
Waste of money not good unfortunately
I’ve been many times in the past and it’s been okay. But my most recent visit was horrible. The food was bland and made poorly and the waitress didn’t set it up so we could pay together (even though we told her we’d be on the same tab several times). When we left, I had accidentally signed the wrong receipt, and another staff member followed us out of the store and pressured me into leaving a tip before I signed the other receipt. It was awkward and uncomfortable, and the food made my stomach hurt. My partner and I won’t be coming back anytime soon.
Try their delicious duck soup.
Great service and food.
Oriental Cafe is a great place for Asian fusion experience. A special location with a variety of diverse options that are all provided with excellent service and friendly waitresses. A gem in Storrs, CT. Highly recommend it. Cozy and busy. Sit in or take out.
Always go here with my friends. Their lunch prices are lowkey banging. $11.50 for 3 rolls, salad, AND soup? Sign me up. The better sushi you can get near campus. Wish that it was a little bigger though because sometimes you wait a while for a table.
While in Storrs we decided to have some lunch. Stopped into The Oriental Cafe 2. We ordered Harumaki and Gyosa appetizers. They were good. Reasonably priced. I ordered the Generals Chicken. I asked for no broccoli and extra spicy. It came spicy and with broccoli. The portion was on the smallish side. Especially for the price. It was tasty, not too sweet. Heavy on the rice vinegar.I would go there again, but I'll stick with the apps.
Food is 7-8/10. On one occasion though, my already paid for food was thrown out because I was about 7 hours late to pick up the order. In the end, I had to pay an extra 5 bucks to have it redone. That wasn't fun. Decent place though. Just wish they expand their menu choices.
Sushi lunch special is delicious and a great deal.
If you want something cheap off the menu that can come in a semi-large quanitity I recommend the Salmon Maki. There is about five in each pallet and each is only six dollars. I get three orders to go and it comes down to $14 dollars. Really affordable and delicious!
Amazing food and staff
I dare to say that this is without a doubt one of the best sushi restaurants in Connecticut. The portions aren't huge but the quality of what you do get is way above par that of any others that I've tried in recent memory. There are a few reviews complaining about tipping and to that I say - If you can't afford to tip then don't eat out. So please, take these eager defamatory 1 star reviews with a grain of salt and try this place!
Very reasonable prices! Great service, the staff was very responsive on the phone and in person. Loved the food.
I used to love this place but last time I went the waiter was a bit rude to me. Refused with no explanation to make a drink I ordered, very off putting. Take out is great though!
Great Chinese/Japanese food in CT. Atmosphere was lively, close to the university. We started with the fried and steamed dumplings. Yummy. Friends had sesame chicken, love mien and seafood yaki udon. Really good.
